Life giving WORD!
Dear Bretheren in Christ,
'This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me'.
-Psalm 119:50
Affliction drains joy and weakens the heart. In sorrow, opening the Bible may feel insufficient. Yet David found true comfort there. God’s Word does not remove suffering instantly—it revives us within it.
“Quickened” means made alive. When pain makes us feel empty, Scripture breathes hope back into us. It reminds us that God is still sovereign, His love still steady, and our trials still meaningful.
A weary soul needs more than relief; it needs renewal. And God renews us through His Word.
Like a wilted plant revived by water, the crushed heart slowly rises when it absorbs God’s promises.
Lord Jesus, let Your Word be my comfort in affliction. Breathe life into my weary heart and restore my hope.
In Your Holy Name we pray, Amen.
Prayerful regards,
