Living Examples

Wednesday with Jesus

Dear Bretheren in Christ,
A man may possess a shelf full of theology books, preach powerful sermons, teach Bible classes, hold noble positions in spiritual and social circles, and correct the mistakes of others. Yet heaven measures greatness differently. God is not impressed by how much truth we can explain, but by how much truth we obey.
“Whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 5:19

In Jesus' day, some religious leaders were experts in interpreting God's law, but their lives contradicted the very truths they taught. Their lips honored God, but their hearts remained distant. They could point others to the path while failing to walk on it themselves.

Parents, are you teaching your children lessons that you are unwilling to practice? Shepherds, do your private habits match your public messages? Evangelists, are you proclaiming a Savior whom you genuinely follow when no one is watching? The greatest danger is not ignorance of God's Word but familiarity without obedience.

A burning candle gives light because it consumes itself. Likewise, spiritual influence comes not from eloquent words but from a life surrendered to God. The world has heard enough sermons; it is waiting to see living examples.

Lord Jesus, save me from teaching truths that I refuse to obey. Make my life a testimony of the gospel I proclaim, so that my words and actions may honor You together. Amen.
Prayerful regards,
