Lord, teach me humility
Hey dear young friends in Christ,
“Pride leads to conflict;
those who take advice are wise.”
— Proverbs 13:10
Have you ever argued just to prove you were right—even when you weren’t sure? That’s pride at work. Pride doesn’t like to say, “I was wrong” or “I need help.” Instead, it pushes us to defend ourselves, raise our voice, and win the argument—even if we lose the relationship.
Many conflicts among friends, at home, or even in church begin with one simple thing: an unwilling heart. Pride blocks learning. It closes ears to advice and hardens the heart.
But wisdom looks different. A wise person listens. A wise person pauses. A wise person is not afraid to admit mistakes. Humility doesn’t make you weak—it actually makes you strong and teachable.
Challenge
When you feel the urge to argue, stop and ask yourself: “Is this pride?”
Learn to say, “I may be wrong,” or “Can you help me understand?”
Be open to correction from parents, teachers, and godly friends. Most importantly, ask God to give you a humble heart.
Lord, remove pride from my heart and teach me humility.
Help me to listen, learn, and live in peace with others. Amen.
Jesus loves you!
