Maundy Thursday

Dear Bretheren in Christ,

“Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’”
— Luke 22:19

Maundy Thursday is not just about a meal—it is about a mystery. It is the night Jesus gave Himself, not symbolically, but truly and deeply, to His disciples. The bread was no longer just bread; the cup was no longer just wine. It became a divine invitation into His life, His sacrifice, His very presence.

The Holy Qurbana, the Eucharist, is not merely a remembrance—it is a participation. When we receive, we are not just recalling an event; we are entering into a living union with Christ. His life becomes our life. His sacrifice becomes our strength.

On Maundy Thursday, Jesus lit the lives of His disciples with His own divine life. And even today, every time we come to His table with faith, that same flame is passed on to us.

Come to the Lord’s table not casually, but reverently. Come not only to receive—but to surrender. Let this Maundy Thursday be a moment where you say, “Lord, as You have given Yourself for me, I give myself fully to You.”

Lord Jesus, on this holy night, You gave Your body and blood for me with love beyond understanding. Teach me to receive You with reverence and to surrender my life completely into Your hands. Let Your life flow within me, that I may live not for myself, but for You. Amen.

Prayerful regards,
