Pursue Peace
“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” — Hebrews 12:14
Peace does not always come naturally, especially when we are hurt, misunderstood, or wronged. Yet Jesus calls us to pursue peace, to take intentional steps toward reconciliation, patience, forgiveness, and humility. This does not mean approving of wrong, but choosing love over bitterness. Peace is the language of those who walk closely with Christ.
Alongside peace, Jesus speaks firmly about holiness. Holiness is not perfection, but direction—a heart daily shaped by obedience, repentance, and surrender. When we pursue holiness, we allow the Holy Spirit to cleanse our motives, words, and actions. Without holiness, our spiritual vision becomes blurred; but with it, we begin to see the Lord—in Scripture, in prayer, in people, and in life’s quiet moments.
Peace clears our relationships; holiness clears our spiritual sight. Without both, the journey becomes painful and vision weak.
Lord Jesus, teach me to pursue peace with a willing heart and holiness with sincere devotion. Cleanse my life so that I may see You clearly and walk closely with You every day. Amen.
