My dear beloved Youth in Christ,

'For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.' – Matthew 6:21

Jesus doesn’t just warn us about materialism—He reveals a spiritual principle: our hearts follow our treasures. What we value most will shape our desires, decisions, and direction.

Many believe they can love God and still pursue worldly security or recognition first. But Jesus says it plainly: whatever you treasure—money, success, approval, even good things like family or ministry—that thing will have your heart. And when your heart is elsewhere, God gets what’s left over.

What consumes your thoughts when you're alone?
What are you most afraid to lose?
What would you be willing to sacrifice everything else for?

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal if something is competing for your heart.
Realign your affections today by choosing to invest in eternal things: time with God, love for others, obedience to His Word. Where you intentionally place your treasure—your time, money, focus—your heart will follow.

Lord, help me to treasure You above all. Show me anything in my life that’s taking Your place in my heart. Teach me to invest in what matters eternally. Let my heart follow where You are. In Your Holy Name, Amen.
