Watchmen over open doors
'Rumors are dainty morsels
that sink deep into one's heart.' — Proverbs 18:8
It is as hard to refuse to listen to gossip as it is to turn down a delicious dessert. Taking just one bit of either one creates a craving for more.
You can resist rumors the same way a determined dieter resists candy—never even open the box. If you refuse to taste the first bite of gossip, you will be able to avoid the second and the third.
O God, kindly appoint watchmen over the open doors of our body and mind.
Jesus Loves you!
