Have a sweet sleep
WEDNESDAY WITH LORD JESUS
Grace and peace to you in the Name of Lord Jesus Christ!
Dear Bretheren in Christ,
"When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet."- Proverbs 3:24
This verse offers a quiet assurance to the soul — a promise of peace that transcends mere physical rest. In a world filled with anxiety and unrest, Proverbs 3:24 is a gentle reminder that when we walk in wisdom and trust in God, fear loses its grip, even in our most vulnerable state — sleep.
The sweetness of sleep here is more than rest; it symbolizes a heart at ease, unburdened by guilt, worry, or fear. It speaks to a life aligned with divine truth, where trust in the Lord disarms the dread of uncertainty. This kind of rest isn't merely for the body but for the spirit — a serenity that only God can give.
To meditate on this verse is to ask ourselves: What disturbs our rest? What keeps our minds racing when we long to be still? It invites us to bring those burdens to the One who gives sleep not as an escape, but as a gift — a reminder that we are held, even when unconscious, by His care.
So tonight, as you lie down, breathe deeply. Release your fears. Trust that you are not alone. And may your sleep be sweet — not because all is perfect, but because you are resting in the arms of the One who is.
Lord, as I lie down tonight, quiet my heart and free me from fear, that I may rest in Your perfect peace. Let my sleep be sweet, a gift from Your loving presence watching over me.
In Your Holy Name we pray, Amen.
Prayerful regards,
