Come unto me and drink
Dear Bretheren in Christ,
“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” — John 7:37
On the last day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out—not to the satisfied, but to the thirsty. As this year reaches its final hours, we sit quietly with Jesus and hear that same loving call. He knows the thirst we carry into this night—the thirst for peace, healing, forgiveness, strength, and hope for tomorrow.
Jesus does not ask us to fix ourselves before coming. He simply invites us to come and drink. The year behind us may have drained us, but the Savior before us is full. As the old year ends, Jesus stands at the doorway of the new one, offering living water that refreshes the soul and carries us forward in grace.
Like a traveler reaching a well at sunset after a long journey, we draw near to Jesus—not with explanations, but with empty hands and thirsty hearts.
As you step into the New Year,
May the living water of Christ refresh your soul,
May His peace guard your heart,
May His presence go before you,
And may His grace sustain you all your days.
With joy and hope in Christ,
Happy New Year. The Lord be with you—now and always. Amen.
Prayerful regards,
