God will not withhold...

Hey dear young friends in Christ,

“For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.” — Psalm 84:11

Teen years are full of wishes. You may wish for the newest phone, popularity in school, perfect grades, or an easy life without struggles. Sometimes when those things do not happen, it may feel like God is holding something back from you.
But the Bible tells us something deeper: God is our Sun and our Shield.
A sun gives light and warmth, helping life grow. A shield gives protection from harm. God promises to guide our lives with His light and protect us with His presence.

Notice what the verse says carefully. It does not say God will give everything we think is good. Instead, it says He will not withhold what is truly and permanently good for our lives. Sometimes the things we want immediately are not the things that help us grow into strong, godly people.

Think of a loving parent. A good parent may refuse certain requests—not because they don’t love the child, but because they want what is better for the child’s future.

God works the same way. He promises to give grace (strength to live right) and glory (a meaningful and blessed life). But there is one important part we must remember: God provides the path, but we must walk on it.

If God shows the right way—through the Bible, parents, teachers, or conscience—we must choose to obey. When we do what is right, God promises that He will never withhold anything that will help us serve Him and grow into the person He created us to be.
So dear teens, trust God’s wisdom. His “no” today may be protecting a greater “yes” tomorrow.

Jesus loves you!
