Hey dear young friends in Christ,

“Each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.” (James 1:14)

We often think temptation comes from outside—friends or media. But the Bible shows it begins inside us. Our own desires respond to what we see.

It’s like a fish and a hook. The hook works only because the fish is attracted to the bait. In the same way, wrong desires in our hearts make temptation powerful.

That’s why guarding your heart matters. Temptation often starts as a small thought, but if we entertain it, it grows stronger.

Be honest: What desires am I feeding? Fill your heart with God’s Word, prayer, and good influences.

Victory begins in the heart.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to overcome wrong desires and keep my heart pure. Amen.
